Frequently Asked Questions
What are Twitter Groups used for?
There are seven primary reasons for Twitter Groups...
1. People that are already on Twitter can find other people on Twitter with similar interests to follow.
Twitter Groups make this very easy because everyone is listed on one page!
Plus, it is not always possible to use search.twitter.com to find tags
for every topic that you are interested in. Our Search Engine can assist you with finding various groups to join.
2. Organizations, Clubs, Alumni, Non-Profit and other groups of people may create their own Twitter Group
to augment your organization.
This makes it very easy to send your Twitter Group URL to all members of your organization and invite them to join Twitter and
your Group. Be sure to add a link to your Twitter Group to your website, blog and wiki too.
3. Social Groups for ALL cities in the USA already exist on Twitter Groups. Be sure to join the group for your
city.
4. Business Groups for ALL cities in the USA already exist on Twitter Groups. Be sure to join the group for you
city, if you are a business owner or manager. It is always great to do business with someone in your local area
that is on Twitter.
5. Events, Conferences and Tradeshows may use Twitter Groups to create a group for everyone that is attending
an event, or is interested in an event. Once the event starts, be sure to Twitter using the #tag for your group
so that everyone can follow the tweets at the event. You can also create a Twitter Group to let people RSVP for your event!
6. Additional links that people Twitter about, such as Blogs, Photos, Videos, Articles, Events, Forums, etc. can be linked to
your Twitter Group and shared with other members.
7. Existing Groups on Ecademy, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, MeetUp, MSN, MySpace, Ning and other social networks can
augment their membership by creating a Twitter Group and linking it to their existing group!
Not only does this draw additional traffic to your group, but it also enables everyone in
your group using Twitter to interact even more using the facilities of Twitter.
Can I make changes to the Twitter Groups that I create or join?
Not currently. We work very much like Twitter in that once you post it, it is posted. However, we are working on some tools that Group Creators will be able to use to edit their members and links.
Be sure to follow @1datarecovery for updates as we announce them on Twitter.
Note: If you joined a Twitter Group and you used an incorrect URL for your Website, simply join the same Group again using the correct URL.
Your ID will appear twice in the list for a short time. However, our software will delete your first entry the next time that we purge the database.
How can I get myself removed from Twitter Groups?
Send a Twitter DM to @1datarecovery asking that we REMOVE you from Twitter Groups. Please note that once you are removed, ALL of your links are removed and that this can NOT be reversed. This is why we ask you to send us a DM request.
Can I have my Twitter Group without advertising?
We do have a facility to remove ads from the Twitter Groups. Contact out HelpDesk or send a DM to @1datarecovery for additional information.
My Twitter Group does NOT show up in the Search Engine. Why?
Check back in 1 - 5 days. We use Google to index the Twitter Groups web site and Google crawls our web site for updates every couple of days. Your group will not instantly show up in the search engine.
I added myself to a Twitter Group but I do not show up. Why?
Be sure that you sent out the tweet using one of our URL's.
In some cases, if you edit the message or you ReTweet the message, our URL may turn
into a TinyURL and our software will not see this as being a valid URL for this service.
Please note that all of the Twitter Groups now have both a Long URL and a Short URL.
You may now use the Short URL in your message, if you need to. Visit your Groups Home Page for details.
Why was my Twitter Group deleted?
Your Twitter Group may be deleted if there is little or no activity within the Group.
In order to keep the site fast, our software will flush inactive groups periodically.
Also, as part of our Terms of Service with our hosting company, Google AdWords and the Google Search Engine code,
we are not permitted to have adult content, links or keywords on this site.
In the event that our software detects such links, they will be removed along with the submitter.
Why were all of my links deleted?
If our software thinks that you are spamming the service with a large number of links, it may block your Twitter ID until it can be reviewed.
